Initial Diagnosis and Goal Setting
If you’re reading this second part of my story (blog), I’m going to assume that you have read the first part. So firstly, thank you for sticking with me and following my journey.
I hope that you got something out of the initial piece and learned something about me and my personality, approach and health goals. In particular, I hope that it has sparked something in you that will get you started on your own journey.
In this second piece I will:
- Share the details of my initial diagnosis with type 2 diabetes
- Do a deep dive of google - researching diabetes, healthy eating and wellness
- My personal goal setting
- The apps and resources I used
- Major changes in my diet
- The support and expertise critical to achieving a good outcome
- An initial high blood sugar result, which I ignored
- Over-eating and drinking bad stuff, while trying to acclimatise to the tropical summer heat and humidity
- A follow up Cumulative Glycated Haemoglobin HbA1c blood test, and
- A two month wait to see the doctor.
And my story relates solely to my health journey and the key elements of my approach. Each stage of my story will be structured around this approach.
• Healthy eating • Physical activity • Weight management, and • Lifestyle and support
